The trek starts from Hulundanu Batur Temples on the north edge of Lake Batur. From here you need approximately 1.5 hours to the destination called Bubung Gede. The visitors usually spend 1-2 hours on this peak before back down. On the way back you will be guided through mini montane forest go down to the east side of lake Batur near renowned Trunyan village cemetery, then cross the lake with a small boat to the starting point at Hulundanu Batur temple.

Batur Caldera Sunrise Trekking Itinerary:
- Hotel pick up drive directly to starting point
- 04.45 am – arrive at ulun danu temple (starting point),
- 05.00 am – Begin trail trek up to sunrise point accompanied by a professional local trekking guide
- 05.45 am – Arrival at the sunrise point where we enjoy the spectacular sunrise view and enjoy the light breakfast
- 06.30-07.00 am – after the sunrise, we continue the trek around caldera rim. Than, begin our descent to pulak where our traditional boat is waiting for pick up
- 08.30-09.00 am – leaving pulak by traditional boat crossing the lake batur to finishing point
- 09.30 am – Trek is finished
- 10.10 AM: Relax & take bath at the Natural hot spring.
- you will drive back to the hotel
